Yo Gabba Gabba Birthday Cake

Yo Gabba Gabba Birthday Cake

I was inspired to bake this cake for my daughter's first birthday party because of her love for the TV show, Yo Gabba Gabba. For the cake itself, I simply used a boxed cake mix to make a 3 layered, 9-inch round cake. I then covered the cake in fondant that I tinted green. I also added fondant daisies covered in edible cake glitter.

You can buy pre-rolled fondant at most craft stores such as Jo-Ann's, and is fairly easy to use (this was my first attempt at fondant, and although I'm sure I'd be better with practice, I was pretty happy with how it turned out!)

The cake topper was a character from Yo Gabba Gabba. I was originally going to make her out of fondant as well, but opted to use clay in order to preserve her as a keepsake for my daughter.

Editor's Note: Thanks for sharing this beautiful cake with our readers, Katye. It will inspire other moms to create memorable cakes for their children who also love the show.
