Why Fruitcakes?

I think fruitcakes are some of the worst Christmas gifts. They are heavy cakes that contain different types of fruit. I personally have never tried them, and I don’t want to. However, I don’t give them as gifts because I don’t know of anyone who actually eats them. Almost every fruitcake I have seen looks stale.

I don’t know why they are sold in stores. However, they shouldn’t be banned from being for sale or from production. Just because I don’t like them that doesn’t mean someone else doesn’t. For everyone who eats and enjoys fruitcakes, more power to you. But, I wouldn’t recommend them.
