White Wedding Cake With Strawberry Filling

My step-mother is a very creative woman and an awesome baker and when she heard we were trying to save a bit of money on our wedding she offered to make our cake--any cake we wanted, all we needed to do was bring her a picture.

I searched websites for days looking for examples of cakes that were simple yet elegant. I picked two pictures that I would have been equally happy with and handed them over to her along with my trust that she would come through for me with a great cake.

The day of the wedding when I went to see the finished product this beautiful cake sat in front of me and I was blown away--it looked exactly like the picture. The flowers were beautiful and the frosting was flawless!

She made the cake for a total cost of about $150. It had four tiers, white cake with strawberry filling and served the 60 people who came for the wedding and we had a lot left over! The flowers were purchased from a local florist.
