What Is Fruitcake

by Nichole B.
(Las Vegas, NV)

I was sent a small fruitcake with some other goodies this year for Christmas. It was nicely packaged and looked a lot different from the cakes I am used to eating. I examined the contents and spotted what looked to be like nuts, maraschino cherries, and some kind of green cherries. Maybe the cherries were dyed to make the fruit cake look festive. So I thought that since I could identify what I was about to eat that I should go for it. In addition, to tell you the truth it was not that bad. I do not know why fruitcake has such a bad rap. People put fruit in Jell-O so why not fruit in a cake!
