Vanilla Cake
When baking a vanilla cake, the most important ingredient is obviously the
flavor. The type of flavoring can make your cake dreamily delicious or just
“plain vanilla” as the expression says.
The cheapest and easiest type (they often carry it in convenience stores) is
imitation extract. This will work in the place of real
extract, but the real one adds a much stronger and more complex flavor.
Other options include flavored powder (both real and imitation) and the
actual bean ground finely or soaked in a liquid to extract the flavor. It is a
warm complex flavor that lingers in your mouth and tastes like nothing else in
this world. It is easily as interesting as chocolate and people who taste the
real thing for the first time are often surprised at the depth of the tasting
experience.
