Tropical Fruit Wedding Cake

My wedding cake was prepared by the wedding staff at Sandals Resort in Negril, Jamaica where I was married. The cake was fairly small but we only had 7 people attending our reception so it was a perfect size to accommodate us. This cake was presented nicely on a styrofoam platform with the edible portion was the top piece.


We chose the tropical fruit wedding cake as we figured it would be appropriate since we were celebrating our wedding in the Caribbean. This was a mistake, however, none of us enjoyed the cake. It tasted like holiday fruit cake which I personally don’t care for. My guests only ate a bite of their pieces of cake before moving on to the hors d’oeuvres. I feel it would have been a better choice to stick with the chocolate or vanilla options that were made available to us in the planning stages of our reception.

The cake was included as part of our wedding package from the resort so we did not pay an additional charge for it, nor did we ever find out what the cost of it was. It was a nice simple choice for a cake and looked beautiful in all of our photos from the reception.
