Trogdor Birthday Cake

I actually made this for my husband, but I assure you that he is a kid at heart. No special tools required, just the extra ingredients of love and creativity.

It was based on the Web character Strongbad, one of my husband's favorites. In one of the webisodes, Strongbad teaches his friends how to draw a dragon. He names his drawing "Trogdor" and then proceeds to sing a song about the awesomeness of Trogdor. This cake was an homage to Strongbad and Trogdor.

I used a white cake mix and tinted it to a delightful green with food coloring. After baking and cooling, I frosted with chocolate icing and piped my picture of Trogdor on the top of the cake in green. It was a big hit.

It's not a spectacular architectural work of any kind, but it was the personal touch that made it so special.
