Time Capsule Birthday Cake

For my oldest son's first birthday, I decided on a "Time Capsule" theme. All invited were mailed an invitation in a small mailing tube (think "Capsule"), and asked to put items, letters, pictures, etc inside of it for my son to open on his 18th Birthday!

For the cake, I made a clock (again, think "Time"), set at the time he was born.

The cake was round (like a clock), and iced with a dark brown chocolate icing. The numbers were Roman numerals at 12, 3, 6, and 9, and done in white icing (as were the clock hands).
