The Mistake Cake

This was actually a mistake. We were planning on making a 3 tiered cake, but filled the tins a little too much so there was a lot of extra. We took all the leftover scraps we shaved off from the cakes to make the tier and began to mess around. This was the result!

She was turning 12 and was having a bunch of girls over. They are all goofy girls and once we finished this one for fun. They ended up enjoying it more then the tiered one we meant to make. The top hat of the cake is made from the top of the smaller cake that rose. The eyes we just cut ourselves with a knife, no cookie cutter or anything.

The picture shown is the finished project. It seems to me that the mistakes we make in life are beautiful. You can make anything out of it. The cake we made just as a joke ended up being her favorite thing at her birthday. She thought it was funny and thoughtful. People love it when you spend extra time to make something creative and from your soul.
