The Guitar Hero Cake

My son loves playing guitar hero he was turning 11 so I decided to make him a guitar hero cake. I used two pans to construct this cake. The first pan was the stardard "bundt" pan. The other pan was an elogated loaf pan. Using standard Betty Crocker mix for vanilla cake, I baked two cakes.

Now the fun began. I did careful cutting fo the bundt portion so that it looked like a guitar. Trimmed the loaf so that it looked like the handle of the guitar. Frosted the pieces using dark chocolate and then adding the color parts using food coloring.

It did n ot take very long, but let me tell you the thrill on my son's face and those of his friends were worth the effort.
