Sweet 16 Birthday Cake

I made this cake because I am tired of store bought cakes. In this time of economic crisis, anything I can do to save money is worth it.

The cake was made for my daughter's 16th birthday. I made the cake in a normal 8 inch round cake pan, well actually 2. I then used a cream cheese icing that I made to ice it. The flowers were made with some fondent that I happened to have lying around. I was so proud of the outcome. My daughter loved it and asked me to do one every year from now on.
