Sunflower Wedding Cake

In my recent wedding, my beautiful bride and I decided to go with a summer/fall theme cake. Since it corresponded with the season of the year, sunflowers were used along with hues of orange and yellow.

The cake was vanilla with vanilla/cream cheese icing. We had the cake custom made from a friend of the family who makes cakes for weddings of friends and family members, not a shop or bakery. I think this helped us create a unique wedding for ourselves!

The cake itself cost about $350 which was much less than we would have paid to have it made in a larger bakery or wedding shop.
