Strawberry Shortcake Cake

Strawberry Shortcake Cake I made this Strawberry Shortcake cake for my daughter's 3rd birthday. It was a 2 layer vanilla cake with strawberry filling (of course!) and an orange buttercream frosting. I wanted to try a new decorating technique of a frozen buttercream transfer. As you can see, the method was a success! I printed an enlarged picture from the Internet, attached wax paper over it, and then filled in the picture onto the wax paper using different colors of buttercream. Once frozen, the image was easily flipped onto the cake. For the finishing touches I decorated the sides with buttercream strawberries and chocolate jimmies as seeds. While time consuming, it was pretty easy to do and very impressive at the party!
