Strawberry Ice Cream Cake

My Nana was a great cook and an even better baker. She had the perfect balance of artistry and chemistry that it takes to bake a great cake.

I tried to replicate her homemade five-layer strawberry ice cream cake for my son's birthday. It consisted of two layers of angel food cake, separated by homemade strawberry ice cream, strawberries and whipped cream, and then frosted in whipped cream. My version was a mess, but still quite edible!
