Spring Flowers Wedding Cake
The cake featured spring flowers common to the southeastern US, such as dogwood blooms, lily of the valley and hydrangea. All flowers were made from icing and were edible. It was also delicious.
I chose the cake because we were married in an old rustic church on a mountain in Tennessee where I grew up.
I purchased the cake from a woman who makes cakes independently from her home.
It served 150 guests with lots of leftovers.
It cost $400.
The icing flowers also preserved well and we still have some in a vase at home for decoration - cake was made in 2004.
The top of the cake was frozen and preserved in freezer well until the one year anniversary.
