Smaller Wedding Cake

This cake was for my best friend's wedding. She worked at a local bakery at the time and wanted to do something a little different. So instead of having one huge cake, she got a small 2-tier cake made. It was a buttercreme frosting over a vanilla cake. With some swirls drawn on the sides in buttercreme frosting.

The cake was actually given as a wedding present but was very simple and wouldn't have cost a lot of money. It was made by Riley's Bakery a local and very popular bakery. The wedding cake itself was only used to serve the bride, groom, and wedding party.

Since we got a small cake we decided to make small 1 layer cakes for each table as center pieces. We made cake stands for them by flipping a terracotta pot upside down with a plate hot glued to it. We painted our cake stands to match the wedding colors and this way each table could serve themselves dessert and the bride and groom had ther own cake to themselves
