Skateboard cake
My soon to be nine year old wanted to have a skateboard themed party. This cake was pretty simple to make using only two different sized pans, a circle 9" pan and a rectangular 9"X11" pan.
First you bake cakes in both of the pans. When you are done you have to cut the circle in half and place at each end of the rectangular piece, cut side touching rectangle.
Then you have to go in and shape the board by cutting out and angle on the sides to make the skateboard shape complete.
When you have done the shaping all you need to do is ice the cake and add some round Hostess cakes for the wheels.
It is much better if you double the cake so you have another layer which means you just have to bake another batch. Icing in a fun and cool manner. I use ziplock bags for the icing to make it easy to pipe on.
