Rugrats Cake

My friend wanted a rugrats cake for her son who was 9. I had just taken cake decorating class from a local hobby shop and I thought I would give it a try as my first real assignment.

I bought the Rugrats pan so I would have the shape of the characters. I used a box white cake mix (it's usually the moistest, I think) I made homemade buttercream icing and divided it into separate batches so they could be colored differently.

I used a general picture of their hair color and clothes color. I used the star icing tip and an icing bag and went to it! It took more time than I thought, but it turned out great!
