Rubber Ducky Cake

Rubber Ducky Cake

Rubber Ducky Cake

My baby boy absolutely loves rubber ducks. We had a ton of them all over the living room, and of course, in the bath tub. So I decided that this would be the perfect theme for his First Birthday.

We were having a large crowd (about fifty) so I decided to make two sheet cakes. (I know someone who works in a school cafeteria, and we borrowed their cake pans. Three boxes of cake mix fill one pan.) One was chocolate and one was lemon. I put blue food coloring in the cream cheese icing to create the water. We placed the giant rubber duck on top. Then I used a small circle tip for the white icing to make little bubbles one by one. This was a fairly easy project, And I think they turned out great!

We also floated ducks in the blue punch & blue jell-o. We made "pin the bill on the duck" from poster board, put yellow duck feet prints (construction paper) leading the way into the party room, and printed out duck coloring pages. And of course we had rubber ducks sitting on all of the tables!
