Red Dragon Cake

Red Dragon Cake

Red Dragon Cake

I made this cake for my son's first birthday.

Knights and Dragons was the theme. I was inspired to make it because his first name (Drake) means dragon.

I looked online for instructions on how to make the body/legs/head and adapted it to suit what I wanted.

The body is made from a chocolate cake mix and the tail, legs, and head are caramel.

The wings were made out of melted chocolate chips poured into a foil mold I made myself.

The "scales" are red sprinkles and the spikes along the back and tail are Hershey's Kisses.

The ears and teeth are made from butterscotch morsels.

The icing is milk chocolate with red cake decorating color.

This birthday cake was submitted by Kat S.
