R2D2 Cake

My son loves Star Wars, so I decided to make him an R2D2 cake. He was 8 at the time.

I didn't use a special pan, but I used several pans! To make the cylindrical body I stacked several circular shapes and then topped it with a dome shape, and then I make thinner long cakes for the legs.

The fun part was getting creative with the icing and drawing the robot form all over the body. The candles were sticking out of the head. It was a chocolate cake with white icing. It was a little tricky to cut! Unfortunately I don't have a picture.
