Puppy Birthday Cake

My roommate loves dogs. Unfortunately, she never had one growing up and we are not allowed to have them in our apartment, so this cake was inspired by her love for dogs.

She was actually turning twenty when I made the cake. The cake was prepared by using a large round cake for the body, then cutting the sides to make it slimmer; a small round cake pan for the head; and cupcakes for the legs and tail.

Then it was frosted with white frosting and the spots were brown frosting. The eyes and nose were marshmallows and the tongue and the bow were Twizzlers.
