Pirate Cake

Pirate Cake

My son wanted a pirate theme for his 7th birthday party, so I wanted to try my hand at a pirate cake.

I used a 9 x 13 pan to bake the cake.

I used a template of a pirate I downloaded from the Net, and placed it on top of the cake and cut around it.

I then decorated it using white icing for the face and red/pink for the bandanna. Used red wafer candies to decorate hat, and a white wafer for his eye and added a drop of black icing for his pupil. I used shoestring licorice for the beard stubble, nose and eyepatch string. Used a cardboard patch. Red lip candies for his lips.

This cake was extremely easy to make as it went together quickly. Everyone loved the cake and thought it looked great.

Hope you like it and will try one of your own.
