Pink And White Monogram Wedding Cake

We saw a picture of this cake in a magazine and took the picture to a local pastry shop. The cake in the magazine was made with fondant. The pastry shop told us that fondant would cost about twice as much as buttercream frosting. After tasting the buttercream (much tastier than fondant!) we decided to go with that and save some money.

The cake looked just as beautiful. Our cake had four layers that alternated between white cake with Bailey's Irish Cream filling (frosting between layers) and chocolate with cherry filling. It served about 200 people and cost around $400.

On one of the tiers has our initials with a circle around it similar to a logo. The pastry shop just asked us what type of font we liked for the lettering. Most importantly, however, was the taste, which was delicious. We had considered another baker who was slightly cheaper but whose cake was not as moist(taste tests are important!). In the end, we were very happy with our cake.
