Pink And Black Star Cake

My daughter has always loved pink and black so I decided that I would make a cake with those colors. She also loves stars so I decided to make the stars those colors. I used two round 9 inch pans to bake the cake in. I also used white fondant and colored them with black and pink food coloring.


The only thing the fondant is good for (in my opinion) is making the cake look nice. The flavor isn't very good and it is hard to work with. You have to have a lot of muscle to kneed it and roll it out. As far as flavor goes, you can always add a flavor such as vanilla, but this makes the fondant sticky and even harder to work with.

I think the next time I make a cake I will use buttercream. Buttercream is thick and very easy to work with.
