Peppa Pig Cake

I saw another one of these cakes on your website and was inspired to try and recreate it (my first ever cake making attempt!) I did email the girl that had produced the other cake, but never heard back on how she did hers.....here is my attempt....

1. I tried to make a pudding bowl cake for the body, but mine kept coming out too hard so instead I made 2 large sponges and one little one to go on top to make the body shape, these a layered with jam and vanilla icing (a very large victoria sponge!)

2. The head is a polysterene ball purchased for £3 on ebay from a model making company (6inches). This I covered and decorated with regal icing a week before I made the cake to make sure I got i right and left it in a cupboard. The nose and ears I attached with tooth picks, as was the teddy.

3. Please email me if you want to know anymore details....if you are used to making cakes then it is very easy - but as my first attempt it did take me 6 hours while watching television at the same time and having never having used regal icing before, I'm sure there are easier techniques.

The things we do for our children!?

Editor's Note: Thanks for your generosity in sharing the picture of the cake and your tips on how to make it, Lisa. It is a lovely cake and it will inspire others to give it a try!
