Patty's Pig Pickin' Cake

My friend Patty introduced me to this yummy, easy cake. One of my favorites!
1 box yellow cake mix
2 eggs
1/2 c oil
1 box instant vanilla pudding
1 14 oz can crushed pineapple, drained
1 c chopped pecans
1 8 oz container coolwhip
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Make cake mix according to package directions, using eggs and oil. Add 1/2 c pecans to cake mix and bake. After cake has cooked, spread pineapple over warm cake and let cool completely. This step is crucial! After cake is completely cool, make vanilla pudding according to package. Fold into coolwhip. Top cake with mixture, and sprinkle with remaining nuts.
