Our Wedding Cake
We decided on this style because it was a simple but classic style cake. We bought it from Sam's Club in Frederick, Maryland. They recommended buttercream icing since it stands up to heat alot better then some icings. They made it exactly how we wanted it at no extra charge. The 3 tier cake fed about 12 people per cake, for a total of 36 people. We purchased an additional 1/2 sheet cake (that matched the tiered cake) to feed about another 48 people.
The cake stand had to be purchased separately at Sam's Club for about $18.00. The entire set up in the picture costs about $74.00. We added a glittery mesh covering over the stand and artifical roses across the bottom to make it look like a professional set up.
The only downside was we had to pick up and set up our own cake but it was well worth it. This saved us hundreds of dollars.
