My First Practice Wedding Cake

Wilton Class 3 Cake

Wilton Class 3 Cake

I made this cake for my Wilton Class 3 Course, but it was my initial inspiration in learning how to do wedding cakes.

The bottom tier is 2-10" round cakes and the top is 2-8" round cakes. My instructor gave me a recipe for Rolled Buttercream (which is similar to fondant but tastes much better in my opinion) which is what I used to cover both layers.

The pink dots and green leaves are buttercream icing and the pink roses are my first fondant roses. It definitely wasn't a perfect cake, but it was so much fun to make and even more fun to show off to all my friends and family.
