Morning Sweet Tooth

by Marilyn

My husband and I love this with morning coffee. It's healthy, easy to put together (you can make it ahead) and it satisfies our collective morning sweet-tooth.

Enjoy!

Ingredients:

1-1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup margarine
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 egg 1-1/2 cups flour
2 cups uncooked oats
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup unsweetened applesauce
1/3 cup water
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

First Heat oven to 293°F. Lightly spray a 11-inch baking pan or dish with nonstick cooking spray. Combine flour, oats, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Blend with a wire whisk and set aside. Beat together margarine and sugar. Blend in egg. Add flour mixture, applesauce, and water. Mix well. Fold in nuts. Spread evenly in prepared baking dish. Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely.
