MA'S Chocolate Cake Recipe

MA'S Chocolate Cake Recipe:

1.5 cups Cake flour .5 cup sour milk
1 tsp. baking powder .5 cup boiling water
.5 tsp. salt 2 squares chocolate
4 tblsp. butter 1 tsp. baking soda
1 cup sugar 1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs

Chocolate should be melted in a dbl. boiler. Sift the flour - add baking powder and salt - sift 3x. Cream the butter and sugar. Add eggs and beat well. Pour boiling water over the chocolate - mix well. Add baking soda and stir until the mixture is thick. Cool the mixture slightly before adding to the batter. Add the flour and milk to the creamed butter, sugar and eggs. Add the chocolate mixture. Finally add the vanilla and mix well. Pour the batter into a greased flour dusted cake pan and bake. Test cake with toothpick. Pre-heated oven temp. 325 degrees. Time - 25 minutes.
