Marmalade Cake Recipe

A work colleague gave me this marmalade cake recipe. It's simplicity itself to make and she used to bake this before work so we could have warm cake to start our day. Don't worry if you don't like marmalade. I don't either, it doesn't matter for this cake.
6oz self-raising flour
3oz sugar
3oz margarine
1.5 tsp mixed spice
2 tbsp marmalade
2 tbsp syrup
3 tbsp water
1 egg
pinch salt
Sieve flour and mixed spice together.
Melt margarine, sugar, marmalade, syrup and water together. Pour over flour and spice. Mix together.
Beat egg and salt together - add to the mess you just made. Mix well.
Put in a loaf tin and bake for approx 1hr at 160' Gas 2.
