Lilly's First Birthday Cake

Lilly's First Birthday Cake

Lilly's First Birthday Cake

I created this masterpiece for my youngest daughter's first birthday. I wanted it to be a special day and cake for her, so I used Pillsbury box confetti cake mix and poured it into a circular pan. After it cooled, I used a piece of thread as a saw, and cut the one cake into two layers. I put white tub frosting on top of the first layer, and then laid the other on top. We then spread the rest of the tub frosting on top. At one point, we even put the entire thing into the freezer which helped to keep the crumbs to a minimum. We used a can of premade colored frosting for the number one and pink embellishments, and then my other two daughters, ages 4 and 6, helped to add the sprinkles on top.
