Lego Cake

by Lindsey
(Oregon, USA)

For my son's 5th birhday, I decided to do something different this year. Instead of the usual ice-cream cake we get, I got this fantastic recipe for a cake that looks like a big lego! My son is a huge fan of legos, and I thought it would be a neat idea and everyone would get a kick out of it!

I used 2 boxes of white cake mix, and baked half of it in a glass pan, and the other half in a cupcake tray. When the cake was cooled off in the glass plan, I flipped it over and added the cupcakes on top. I held them in place with toothpicks, and added the bright neon red frosting by adding food coloring to the mix!

The recipe ingredients:

1 13- x 9- x 2-inch sheet cake
8 cupcakes
White frosting
Food coloring (your choice of color)
Toothpicks

Remember when cutting and serving the cake, that you remove or inform the guests of the toothpicks so they don't get poked!

This was one of my favorite cakes to make, and it was quite simple! It was a favorite at my son's birthday party, that all the other moms wanted to make it as well. It's a fun and neat idea!
