Kung Fu Panda Cake

Not long before Mathew's 8th birthday, we had seen Kung Fu Panda. I have three children and I have always made their birthday cakes. Often, as in this cake, I would go to a local craft store and "rent" a cake pan. Sometimes I change the design or colors a bit to fit our theme.

This was more of a teddy bear type cake, but I changed the colors to black and white to match Kung Fu Panda. Making a "fancy" birthday cake is easier than it may look, and knowing that I made my kids' cakes personally instead of having someone who doesn't know them make a cake makes for some great memories, both for me and for my kids.
