Inexpensive Wedding Cake

I had always wanted a large cake but the cost was out of my budget. So, I had a friend of my mothers who helped us make my cake. It served over 400 people. I had the 4 tiers and the 4 hearts. Each heart was a different flavor (chocolate, yellow, strawberry and marble.) The tiers were all white. There was also 2 full sheet cakes not pictured. The cost of all this was under $125.00.

I choose this style due to the simplicity of it but still being elegant enough to pull off a large wedding. All of the ingredients were purchased at a local grocery store. The Wilton paste color was purchased there and at Hobby Lobby due to them not having enough for the blue. The mints pictured are cream cheese mints and colored with the small blue and white as the cake. The cake was piped with shells and rose with hearts adorning it.
