Hotel Beach Party Cake

My daughter had her 11th birthday this year. Her birthday is in the winter, and she wanted a beach party. We booked a hotel with a pool, rented 2 rooms and invited 11 of her friends to stay the night. We decorated the rooms and the pool area to look like a beach party, and I spent the night befor making a cake. When I was finished with the cake, I decided it was not going to be enough for everybody and thought it would be fun to make a beach ball on a beach cake.

It went over so well. All the girls thought it was even beter than the one I made last year. (a 13 layer multi flavored cake that stood over 2.5 feet tall.)
