Harry Potter Hedwig Cake

This was a very simple cake done for a friend's birthday. The whole party was Harry Potter themed, and we all (myself and the other party goers) felt the best way to top that off was with a Hedwig (Harry's pet snowy owl) themed cake.

The cake is a simple round yellow cake with chocolate frosting, what makes it special is the decoration. As I was a busy college student at the time, I had to do something that was not too involved but still looked good. I chose and created the white owl done in butter cream which was applied with a knife and roughed up a bit to make it look fluffy. The details were then done in black and yellow gel icing. It was fun and much enjoyed by all.
