Green Wedding Cake

Green Wedding Cake

I was searching for a really unique cake and came across a picture of a robin's-egg blue and gold stunner and wanted to re-create it. I gave the reception place a good picture of it and asked them to re-create it (but smaller, as our wedding was quite intimate).

Although I do love our greeny-cake, it wasn't quite what I had envisioned. Lesson learned: make sure your baker can handle exactly what you want, and if you use an all-inclusive place, maybe consider an outside baker if what you want isn't in their book.

We certainly didn't get a wreck though. I still think it is very cute. The place we had our reception (and thus the place that made our cake) was called Spazio's at Westport, in St. Louis, MO. The cake had three tiers. It was fairly small, enough for about 60-75 people. Since it was included in the package pricing of Spazio's, I'm not sure what it would have cost on its own.

Although it wasn't quite the cake of my dreams, I do love our little green cake, and thought it looked cute with gold accents and our gold topper.

A couple of notes : -please excuse the giant slice out of the cake--it was the ceremonial one

-It really did look better in person.
