Giraffe Cake Just The Spots, Inner Ears And Eyes Finished
I made this cake for my oldest daughter's 2nd birthday. It was my first attempt at making a decorated cake. I used a specialty cake pan from the Wilton company called animal crackers. The pan looked like a bear to start with.
After baking the cake according to the instructions on the box I laid the cake on a piece of cardboard that I had covered with parchment paper. I added icing to the ears to make them pointy like a giraffe.
Then I used a cake tip to create little stars all over the cake in the different colors of the giraffe.
I finished by adding hair to the giraffe and used Tootsie Rolls to make the antlers. I softened the tootsie rolls in the microwave and molded them in my hand to the shapes I needed.
