German Chocolate Cake

I made a German Chocolate Cake with Pecan/Coconut frosting for my younger brother's 9th birthday.

German Chocolate cake was his favorite kind of cake, especially the special family recipe that I prepared. I used three round sheet pans, greased and floured.

First, I prepared the batter, then filled the tins and baked it. While it was in the oven, I prepared the frosting. When the cake was baked and cooled, I frosted it and put a candle shaped like a number "9" on top.

It was a hit!
