Fruitcake From Work

I received a fruitcake for Christmas from year from an office party at work. It was a small loaf. It has red candied-dried cherries and green candied-dried cherries. Oh it was disgusting looking. People often talk of how disgusting fruitcake is so I had to try it for myself. I sliced off a piece and bit into it. That was a mistake. That was the grossest thing I have ever tasted. The consistency was terrible. The cherries were chewy. The cake was crumbly. I was expecting a sponge cake and that was not what I got. I threw the rest away happily.
