Floral Wedding Cake With Chocolate Creme Filling

This was not my wedding cake but I was the maid-of-honor at my sister's wedding and I helped her pick it.

The style of this cake came from my sister's love of blue and flowers (we thought floral cakes were so unique, especially now that fondant covered cakes are popular).

The inside was chocolate with a rich chocolate creme filling and the cream was buttercream. Also, it was able to hold up the cake topper which, for reference, was pretty heavy.

We had it made by an independent baker in Cooperstown, NY. Her name was Nancy. If you type Cooperstown Weddings into Google, you'll be taken to a site where she'll be listed under cakes.

It served about 100 people, and the slices were good sizes. The cake cost about $400 and we got our money's worth!
