Fairy Treehouse Cake

Fairy Treehouse Cake

Fairy Treehouse Cake

My little girl was turning 3 and totally obsessed with fairies!

She wanted to know where the fairies 'lived' and I told her in a Fairy Tree House - her eyes lit up and I knew I had to make her that kind of cake for her upcoming birthday.

I simply baked 3" x 10" round cakes and covered them with chocolate fondant and then buttercream icing. Into the icing I pressed broken up flaky chocolate to make the 'bark'.

I coloured sugar for the moss and used pre-bought Wilton flowers. I made the leaves out of fondant and just coloured them green. I made a little door for the fairies to enter their house and coloured it blue - once again, just fondant with food colouring.

I bought the fairies at the local $2 shop and gave them away to the little girls who attended the party as part of their 'loot bags.'

My daughter was so thrilled with her cake - it was so worthwhile!!!

Not hard at all either!

Editor's Note: That's a lovely cake, Gabrielle. Thank you for sharing all the details about how you created it. There will be some happy little girls in the future when their moms are inspired to make a cake like this for their birthdays.
