Eggless Cake Recipe
This eggless cake
recipe is simple!
1/2 cup of shortening
1 1/2 cups of sugar
1 1/2 cups of milk
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tbsp. corn starch
Your favorite flavoring (vanilla and lemon are popular)
1. Cream the shortening.
2. Add the sugar, milk, baking powder corn starch and your choice of flavoring and beat the mixture well.
3. Bake at 350 degrees in an 8x8 inch pan for 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
This type of cake was a favorite during the two world wars and the Great
Depression when eggs were hard to come by.
