Dora Birthday Cake

Dora Birthday Cake

Dora Birthday Cake

This cake was made for my daughter's 7th birthday. I used a coloring book image of Dora as a kind of stencil and used food dye to get the icing in the bright colors used on the cover of the coloring book.

The cake itself is a plain vanilla sheet cake. The icing is the store bought kind at room temperature. Make sure the icing is left out at room temperature for at least an hour!

The pan I used was a regular aluminum cake pan. I sprayed it with cooking spray before I poured the batter.

Dora is my daughter's favorite cartoon character and her party was a Dora the Explorer theme and the cakes at the local grocery deli weren't what I had in mind, so I made this one myself. It was a big hit!
