Dark Batman Cake

My inspiration came from the latest Batman movie. The cake was for my nephew, turning 10. I used a pan that I bought at Michaels craft store.

The pan is Batman's torso and a moon around the background. I baked the cake using a regular cake recipe and make the icing myself. I made both vanilla and chocolate icing and bought different colors of food coloring. I added black food coloring to the chocolate icing and also to the vanilla icing to create a grey color.

I also used a cake decorating kit to draw the outlines and face etc. Craft stores, such as Michaels, have Batman cake pans and a variety of other pan shapes and great ideas to get you started.
