Copycat Wedding Cake

I saw a picture of our cake in an Oriental Trading Company catalog and had the "cake lady" do a reproduction. It was small and simple, but elegant, just like our wedding. She actually used boxed cake mix and just piped on the swirls. If I'd had the time, I could have done it myself! Because it was so small, and we'd anticipated over 100 guests, my husband's aunt made up a sheet cake for the actual serving, and we ended up with quite a bit left over. I learned that people don't eat as much cake as you'd think, so it's best not to waste a lot of money on it!
