Construction Cake For Boy

I used a regular Duncan Hines cake mix and made two 9" cakes. I then iced them with chocolate icing. I find that using the creamy whipped is a better choice when you want even coverage.

To make the dirt for the construction area I used creamy peanut butter mixed with enough confectioners sugar to make it a thick paste.

To make the grass and the green parts of the tree I used sweetened shredded coconut mixed with some green food coloring. I rolled a large marshmallow in the coconut to make it stick and then put a pretzel stick in it for the tree.

For the river I used confectioners sugar mixed with a little bit of milk to make a spreadable frosting and some blue food coloring.

I bought the miniature construction vehicles at Wal-mart.
