Chowder Birthday Cake

When my son turned 9 he wanted a very different cake. Most kids his age were into transformers or pirates, but my son was in love with a cartoon character called Chowder.

Although the cake looks really complicated, this is all made from three 9" cake pans that were lined up then carved into Chowder's shape. We let my son choose a picture of Chowder he likes and we hand drew the entire piece onto the shaped cakes.

Took a bit of pre-planning but we pulled off the perfect Chowder cake.
